Guillym is a director and theatre-maker based in Melbourne, Australia.
After growing up in New Zealand, Guillym initially moved to Melbourne to study acting and theatre before progressing his work into screen. He holds a Masters of Film & Television and a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Theatre) both from the University of Melbourne (VCA).
Influenced by his theatre background; Guillym is drawn to experimenting with form, and creating character driven films with a strong focus on perfomance and sense of play. As a director he was previosuly nominated for an Australian Director’s Guild (ADG) Award for his graduate short, Pitch Black.
As a theatre-maker, he won a Green Room Award for Wilde Night In, a theatre/multimedia film he produced with Alex Hines.
While in post-production for his latest film, HURRICANE, Guillym is currently developing several short and long-form projects.
